How does Medusa take revenge?

Note: “How Does Medusa Take Revenge? “invites the audience to question the status quo and uncritical acceptance . In this semi-abstract scene, a violent crimson storm rages around a towering Medusa, with her fists waving like weapons and dwarfing the Parthenon in the distance.  It symbolizes a conflict with the established, underlying corruption. It depicts the struggle for power. For hundreds of years, people have believed that Medusa is a monster.  In my eyes, she appears to be an innocent victim of power’s corruption, and her revenge is a force for change. This work was inspired by the unjust demolition of the Iowa Art Zone in 2017, where my own studio was located. The degree of indifference and arrogance of those in power towards people’s rights and property almost equalled that of the rejection and curse Medusa suffered. Therefore, I tried to blow the horn of revenge for her with swirling, dark red strokes to portray the intensity of struggle.
